IAV opened a new office in Steyr in October 2024. This will further intensify the existing cooperation with OEMs based in the region.
IAV chose Steyr because the city is strategically located around 40 kilometers south of Linz and plays an important role in the automotive industry. Around one million engines and ten million core components for engines are produced here every year. Steyr is also home to a competence center for efficient diesel engines, electric drives and, in the future, fuel cell drives. The development focus here is on electric motors, inverters, fuel cells and additional components as well as on diesel engine series support.
For IAV, Steyr offers excellent opportunities to strengthen our comprehensive service portfolio in the Austrian market. With our local office, we are intensifying and expanding our long-standing partnership with OEMs. Steyr has a long history as a production location and has given its name to several manufacturers based there, e.g. the former Steyr-Daimler-Puch Group and its successor Steyr Motors.
Expansion of the customer portfolio
In addition to existing partnerships, IAV is also planning to address other automotive customers as well as the commercial vehicle and agricultural machinery sectors in Steyr. Steyr can look back on a long history as a production location and has lent its name to several manufacturers based there.
