IAV pays employees inflation compensation

IAV management, the General Works Council and IG Metall have agreed on an inflation compensation bonus of up to 3,000 euros. The money will be paid out to employees in installments starting in March and ending in June of next year.

Dr. Uwe Horn, Director of Labor Relations: “Very happy that we can give our employees the full bonus amount.”

IAV management, the General Works Council and IG Metall have agreed on an inflation compensation bonus of up to 3,000 euros. The money will be paid out to employees in installments starting in March and ending in June of next year.

Johannes Katzan, IAV negotiator for IG Metall, said, “Our collective agreement from 2021 included 2.3 percent for 2022 and a large package with a qualification budget, IAV public holiday, partial retirement and a reduction in working hours for many colleagues. With the additional collective agreement on the inflation compensation, the collective negotiation partners have kept their word that no one should get into financial difficulties as a result of the duration of the pay table until December 31, 2023. For IG Metall, the focus of our commitment is now on shaping IAV as a participatory company with attractive jobs and preparing for the 2024 collective bargaining round.”

Tanja Schneider, Chairwoman of IAV’s General Works Council: “Against the backdrop of the enormous rise in energy and living costs, we are pleased that we were able to reach agreement with management on the inflation compensation. This is not only a strong sign of appreciation, but also a tangible financial relief.”

Dr. Uwe Horn, Labor Director and Managing Director: “As a company, we bear responsibility for our employees and support them as best we can. I am very happy that we can give our employees the full bonus amount of € 3,000. But it is also clear that for IAV this means an additional burden in the double-digit millions, which we will have to compensate for with significant sales growth.”

The inflation compensation premium is part of the German government’s third relief package, which was adopted in the fall of 2022. According to this, companies can grant their employees additional payments up to an amount of 3,000 euros tax- and duty-free. The benefit period ends on December 31, 2024.
