Thanks to Swarm IQ Ride & Move, on-demand transport services can be planned and managed easily and the booking process can be mapped completely digitally. IAV Swarm IQ Ride & Move offers an app-based solution that can be tailored to the needs of our customers - as flexible as mobility should be today.

What is Swarm IQ Ride & Move?

IAV Swarm IQ Ride & Move is an on-demand transport service that helps our customers to plan, analyze and digitalize their transport services in line with demand. One challenge when setting up such transport services is to plan, set up and manage on-demand transport in line with the existing structure. With the flexible Swarm IQ Ride & Move mobility platform, on-demand local transport can be planned, set up and put into operation quickly and easily. The open source platform consists of several easy-to-use components that provide efficient support.

The admin panel is the central control center for managing the mobility offer. Here you can, among other things:

  • Set up stops
  • Set operating times
  • Manage vehicles and users
  • Send push messages to users
  • Record road closures

These functions not only lead to greater customer satisfaction through a better developed, digital mobility network, but also reduce costs through efficient planning of route networks and departure times.

Why is IAV making the source code for Swarm IQ Ride & Move open source?

With the Swarm IQ Ride & Move mobility platform, IAV has set itself the goal of making a contribution to sustainable mobility services that can be used in as many different ways as possible. Public funding for such transport services is often tied to the source code of the software solutions used and, if necessary, adapted, being made available as open source. We support this by publishing our solution. At the same time, with the open source approach we are pursuing the goal of making functional enhancements to our solution available to other local authorities for individual users. In the mobility platforms we operate for individual municipalities, we promptly incorporate corresponding extensions if this is desired by the respective municipality.

What components does Swarm IQ Ride & Move consist of?

The mobility platform consists of the following components: Stops, vehicles and their operating times are set up in the admin panel via a user interface. Users' contact details and user accounts can be managed and individual bookings can be viewed and controlled. We work with you to adapt the app design to your needs. The next step is to distribute the passenger app via the Google® Play Store and the Apple® App Store. The journey is booked directly via the Swarm IQ Ride & Move app. Passenger requests are bundled here and route planning is managed intelligently. In the app for drivers, riders can see upcoming tours, the stops to be made in the near future and can also make direct contact with passengers if necessary. The routing algorithm integrated into the system calculates the extent to which users' mobility needs can be combined and some journeys can be completed together. The advantage: users do not have to do anything else, and the efficiency of the on-demand transport service is automatically increased. 

How can people without a digital affinity use Swarm IQ Ride & Move? 

The concept is designed so that a journey can also be booked by telephone. Alternatively, the passenger app can also be made available as a web version, e.g. on a large monitor. We are happy to support you and contribute our experience.

How is Swarm IQ Ride & Move operated? 

The mobility platform is operated in a secure cloud infrastructure environment with maximum availability.
