For IAV, sustainability is becoming increasingly important in all dimensions: ecological, economic and social. Our purpose “We move the world for the better through technology and engineering” is the foundation of our joint efforts for a sustainable future that connects us not only in Germany, but across all locations worldwide.
IAV has firmly anchored sustainability in its value system. From this, we derive four central areas of action, within which concrete initiatives are used to show how we fulfill our responsibility for our business, for our employees, for the environment and for society in order to preserve an environment worth living in for future generations.

Responsibility for our business
IAV cultivates long-term business relationships that have been based on mutual trust for decades. All employees work in cross-divisional cooperation to sustainably strengthen the position of customers in the market. The sustainable actions of all business partners are also essential to ensure the quality of services and products.

Awards and ratings
EcoVadis evaluates the sustainability performance of suppliers in global supply chains. After silver last year, the company was able to improve in all areas and has achieved gold status.

Responsibility for our employees
As an employer, IAV bears responsibility for its employees. Employees should find an activating environment in which they can realize ideas in a sustainable range of tasks in a spirit of partnership. During the transformation process in the automotive industry, employees must be offered prospects and security in equal measure. For this reason, IAV is driving cultural change, ensuring flexibility and using modern HR tools.

Responsibility for the environment
The European Commission's goal of making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 is both an incentive and an opportunity for us. An incentive in that we want to continuously reduce the CO2 emissions of our business processes, and an opportunity in that we are developing technologies and concepts for sustainable mobility. IAV is working intensively on alternative drive systems - electric, hydrogen and gas drives as well as hybrid vehicles and e-fuels - and also on reducing the consumption and emissions of gasoline and diesel engines. For IAV, responsibility does not end with the engineering of drive options, but is considered over the entire life cycle. As a contribution to climate protection, we are continuously reducing our CO2 emissions in business operations.

Responsibility for society
We see social commitment not as a duty, but as an obligation. That is why we assume social responsibility and are involved in the Special Olympics or the Tent Partnership for Refugees, for example, in order to promote diversity and equal opportunities.

IAV is involved in the Tent Partnership for Refugees with a mentoring program to make it easier for refugees to enter the German labor market.
