In vehicle development, more and more measurement data is being generated. They form the basis for testing and optimizing new functions. However, the amount of data collected has long been too large for manual evaluation. That's why IAV developed the tool Zio Insight: It is easy to use and extracts the maximum amount of information from the available data. The extensive evaluation and visualization options make even complex relationships understandable. For example, a simple traffic light system indicates whether there are problems with certain measurement series. In all evaluations, it does not matter whether the data comes from a real measurement or a simulation.

High efficiency and extensive automation
The evaluation of the data can take place locally on the developer's computer or in the cloud. Switching between both options is seamless with a click of the mouse. Analyses in the cloud can be conducted significantly faster than on a regular PC: On one hand, higher computing power is usually available there. On the other hand, IAV Zio Insight in the cloud performs pre-calculations based on the already available data. If additional measurements are added later, only these need to be newly analyzed – a process that can be automatically triggered by defining appropriate conditions. The data can be hosted via IAV at AWS, any other cloud provider, or on-premise at the customer's site.
Focus on structured metadata
In addition to the actual measurement values, structured metadata of the measurements is crucial for efficient evaluation of experiments.
- IAV Zio Insight offers the ability to automatically generate metadata, for example, from known file types or the measurement data itself.
- Another unique feature is the AI-supported search for measurement data: From any search text, the tool automatically generates the appropriate database query with metadata. This allows measurements to be found and evaluated more quickly.
Complete toolchain along the V-model
The results of the evaluations can be retrieved in various formats such as Excel, HTML, or PowerPoint. They can also be directly imported into the IAV tool Result for result management and further processing.
Here, another strength of IAV Zio Insight becomes apparent: It is part of a toolchain that supports all development steps along the V-model – from requirements management to result management and final documentation. All tools have been successfully in use at IAV for years.
